[UEH50] Logo & 50-Year UEH Identity – A Story of Heritage Endowment and Aspiration to Reach Far

Towards the 50-year milestone of its establishment and development (1976-2026), the 50th-anniversary identity system of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has been built as a condensed symbol of a half-century journey of nurturing knowledge, developing people, and continuously innovating for the community, the city, and society.

The UEH50 logo is not merely an identity design; it is also a way for UEH to recount its development story – from its foundational heritage and mission of national reconstruction, to its powerful transformation into a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral university committed to sustainable action and deep international integration.

UEH50 embodies the spirit of an “Innovation FlyWheel” – a cycle of innovation where the internal resources accumulated through generations become strong enough to activate the dynamism of innovation, enabling UEH to become a sustainable innovation machine, capable of self-sustaining, expanding, and creating profound impacts for its ongoing development journey.

UEH50 Logo – Journey from Heritage to the Future

The UEH 50th-anniversary logo adopts red as its primary color, symbolizing the internal strength, pioneering spirit, and leading aspiration of a university that has been in constant motion for half a century.

The overall symbol is composed of multiple layers of meaning, representing the development stages, educational spirit, and future vision of UEH:

The Book Symbol: Represents the spirit of heritage, the starting point of the 50-year journey, and the mission of national reconstruction through knowledge in the early days of its establishment during the 1975-1976 period.

The Human Symbol: Embodies the development philosophy centered on people. UEH is a convergence of individuals with a spirit of innovation, integration, creativity, and connection, jointly creating sustainable value for the community and society.

The Boat Symbol: Reflects the proactive spirit of transformation and the continuous exploration of new journeys by UEH over 50 years. From the historic Campus A, UEH has expanded its footprint to UEH Mekong in Vinh Long and continues to shape the future with the global connection hub, UEH Nexus, in Khanh Hoa.

The Flow Symbol: Evokes the image of a knowledge flow from local internal strength reaching out to the ocean of global integration. This symbolizes UEH’s spirit of scaling up, internationalizing, and building an inter-regional connection network.

The Circle Symbol of the Future Sun: Represents UEH’s long-term vision and aspiration for global integration. It is a symbol of future orientation, leading UEH to continuously innovate, develop, and move forward.

“Innovation FlyWheel” – When Accumulated Endowment Becomes the Driving Force for Renewal Across Generations

Throughout 50 years of establishment and development, UEH has continuously cultivated its internal strength based on eight core values: Solidarity – Compassion – Dedication – Community – Pioneering – Co-creation – Sustainability – Internationalization.

Over time, these symbols connect to create a unified movement – the image of an “Innovation FlyWheel” carrying UEH’s unique internal strength.

The “Innovation FlyWheel” represents the capacity to accumulate internal resources and generate greater momentum for the future. Within it, each individual and each unit is a wheel of the system. When one wheel accelerates, its kinetic energy radiates throughout the entire community. It is this resonance that creates the enduring strength connecting generations of UEHers in the same flow of knowledge and aspiration for development.

These values do not exist in isolation but are constantly evolving, inheriting, and resonating through each development phase. Hence, the image of the “Knowledge Flywheel” was chosen as the central symbol for the 50-year milestone, representing the spirit of continuous innovation, adaptability, and enduring internal strength of UEH on its future development journey.

The “Innovation FlyWheel” places the brand circle at its center – symbols that have been present throughout UEH’s development journey: the circle in the traditional logo symbolizing sustainability; the five river branches of UEH Mekong spreading knowledge to the community; the UEH Nexus magnifying glass – a place where knowledge converges and is illuminated; as well as the ONE UEH cultural compass and the University’s strategic models.

From a 50-Year Heritage to the Next Development Journey

Entering the 50-year milestone, UEH continues to affirm its development orientation to become a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral university committed to sustainable action and deep international integration; playing the role of a knowledge hub, an innovation center, and a connector for sustainable development for the community, the city, and society.

In this new phase, UEH will continue to promote comprehensive internationalization in training, research, governance, and community connection activities; gradually enhance its position within the global academic community, aiming to maintain its place in the Top 250 Asian universities for the 2025-2030 period and progress towards the Top 100 in Asia in the subsequent phase.

The 50-year identity system is not only a mark of a historical milestone but also a link connecting the past, present, and future; connecting generations of UEHers in the same spirit of unity, companionship, and co-creation.

[UEH 50] “Outstanding Glo-cal Reporter” Program Returns with a New Look, Accompanying and Inspiring with 50+ Glo-cal Classes

In 2025, the “Outstanding Glo-cal Reporter” program was launched for the first time, recording over 190,000 impressions and more than 30 project articles submitted. Towards the half-century milestone, the program returns under the framework of the 50+ Inspiring Glo-cal Classes Series – one of the 22 key activities of UEH’s 50th anniversary. Through this, every UEHer will continue to accompany as a “Glo-cal reporter,” spreading the educational orientation that connects global knowledge with local practical contexts.

 

Strong interest from Glo-cal Reporters in 2025

As part of UEH’s Multidisciplinary & Sustainable Strategy, Glo-cal Education is a differentiated educational orientation at UEH, placing learners at the center and striving to deliver and impart Global knowledge in connection with Local context and market realities. On this foundation, training programs are designed to be interdisciplinary, connecting classroom projects with businesses, thereby providing practical experiences and a transformation in learners’ thinking within the Glo-cal environment.

Built on three main content pillars: Unbox Glo-cal Class, Unbox Glo-cal Program và Unbox Glo-cal Mindset, the “Outstanding Glo-cal Reporter” program creates a space for UEHers to unleash their creativity and contribute fresh initiatives to the development of the community and locality.

In 2025, the Glo-cal Editorial Office recorded over 30 articles from learners across different Schools. Each product was recognized as an inspiring story – where UEH students became storytellers, spreading the spirit of “Empowering Glo-cal Action”.

 

Official return with a new look, towards UEH’s 50th anniversary of establishment and development 

Entering 2026, the “Outstanding Glo-cal Reporter” program officially returns with a new look as part of the 50+ Inspiring Glo-cal Classes Series. Now, each Glo-cal ambassador becomes an indispensable piece of the UEH 50-year milestone. Every article submitted, every initiative spread, will strongly reinforce the differentiated training brand over UEH’s half-century journey. 

The “Outstanding Glo-cal Reporter” gprogram extends an invitation to the UEHer learner community to participate by contributing course project products, real project presentations, major assignments of students or student groups; field trips, special class journals with business participation; or individual student projects supported and accompanied by the University.

Participants can choose from diverse formats: multi-channel media articles, photo sets – photo essays, infographics, videos, short videos, podcasts, or project summary articles to convey the Glo-cal story in the most creative and suitable way. 

 

How to submit products: 

  • Compile all content into a single folder on Google Drive and send it to the email address dcp@ueh.edu.vn.
  • The UEH Glo-cal Education Editorial Office accepts submissions continuously on the 20th of each month.  

 

By participating in the program, students not only earn activity points but also have the opportunity to receive UEH 50th-anniversary branded gifts. Notably, products selected for publication will appear on UEH’s media system and may be introduced to Vietnamese press agencies depending on the content format. The author or group of authors will also have their information acknowledged alongside the product during its media dissemination.

 

At the end of each semester, the most outstanding product with the most creative content and highest dissemination effectiveness will be awarded the “Outstanding Glo-cal Reporter” prize, valued at 2,000,000 VND/product.

[UEH 50] Nearly 700 Experts, Managers, and Business Leaders Participate in the Practical Lecturer Program at UEH, First Phase of 2026

As one of 22 key activities towards the 50th anniversary of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the 50+ Glo-cal Inspiring Classes Program has attracted 700 experts, including leaders, managers, and personnel from state organizations and enterprises, to become Practical Lecturers. Nearly 50% of these experts are senior managers at enterprises.

Systematizing and developing the role of Practical Lecturers with 50+ Glo-cal Inspiring Classes

Glo-cal Education is the training philosophy central to UEH, aiming to connect Global knowledge with Local context and market realities. On this foundation, UEH has been connecting experts from domestic and international enterprises over many years to become Practical Lecturers across all majors/specializations.

The Glo-cal Education training model is consistently disseminated with the partnership of Practical Lecturers from within and outside the University 

Towards the 50th anniversary of its establishment (1976-2026), and to create a more professional and systematic foundation for its upcoming development strategy, UEH has officially systematized these efforts through a program for developing an expert network as Practical Lecturers in the Glo-cal Inspiring Classes, with specific roles:

  • Senior Industry Fellow: Senior leaders, C-suite members, founders/co-founders, or board members with many years of executive experience.
  • Specialist Industry Fellow: Mid-level managers, department heads/deputies, or team leaders within enterprises/organizations.
  • Industry Fellow: Personnel directly working and implementing professional tasks within enterprises/organizations. 

The program is implemented to build a long-term, systematic connection platform between the University and experts 

Unlike the previous fragmented approach, the program is implemented to build a long-term, systematic connection platform between the University and Practical Lecturers, conducted periodically each training semester (2-3 times per year). This is the foundation for UEH to develop long-term practical training cooperation models in the future.

Practical Lecturers will engage with the class through diverse implementation formats, enhancing connectivity and ensuring flexibility for both experts and learners.

Nearly 700 experts from diverse fields participate in teaching at UEH in the First Phase of 2026

The 50+ Glo-cal Inspiring Classes Program has attracted nearly 700 experts registering to teach at UEH in early 2026. Among them, nearly 4% are senior leaders, 45% are department heads/deputies/team leaders, and 52% are personnel from state organizations and enterprises. 

Over 74% of the experts hold a Master’s degree or higher (18 Masters are senior leaders, 51 PhDs are managers, department heads, and personnel in various departments and organizations), and over 62% were trained at international educational institutions, affirming the solid academic foundation of the teaching team.

Notably, many experts also hold prestigious domestic and international professional certifications such as ACCA, CFA, CIA, SHRM-CP, PCM (AMA), AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, PMP, FIATA,…, focusing on fields including: Accounting – Auditing, Finance – Investment – Analysis, Internal Audit – Risk Management, Human Resources – HR Management, Marketing – Digital, Technology – Data – AI, Project Management, Supply Chain – Logistics, and Sustainable Development – ESG – Environment.

Statistics of work experience from the registered expert team

The experts come from over 500 domestic and international organizations, including enterprises, multinational corporations, and state management agencies, with nearly 60% having over 5 years of experience. These include Vietcombank, Petrovietnam, Vinamilk, FPT, Viettel; international corporations like Unilever, Nestlé, Amazon, TikTok, HSBC, Deloitte, PwC; as well as public agencies and organizations such as the Tax Department, People’s Court, Pasteur Institute, Cho Ray Hospital,...

From connection to long-term partnership 

Sharing about this initiative, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung – UEH Interim President state: 

“The program to develop a network of experts to become Practical Lecturers in the Glo-cal Inspiring Classes is not just an academic activity; it is UEH’s way of redefining the learning space – where knowledge does not stop in the lecture hall but is expanded through practical experience, multi-dimensional dialogue, and the partnership of experts from the business and market sectors.

The participation of nearly 700 experts is testament to the strength of the value-co-creation ecosystem that UEH is building, where the State – University – Business – Community – Environment co-identify labor market requirements – co-design training programs – co-teach – and co-create academic & practical value for the future workforce.”

The network of experts becoming Practical Lecturers in the Glo-cal Inspiring Classes not only contributes to enhancing training quality but also affirms UEH’s pioneering role in connecting academic knowledge with development practice. From April 13 to 19, 2026, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is organizing the UEH Sharing & Giving – Career Fair 2026 series of events and the UEH Partnerships Summit conference, toward UEH’s 50th anniversary milestone. The series continues the spirit of companionship nurtured over many years and marks a shift in the approach to cooperation – from connection to co-creation – thereby elevating the relationship between UEH and businesses, partners, alumni, and the community, while jointly shaping sustainable values for the next stage of development.

UEH Sharing & Giving – Career Fair 2026: A bridge between knowledge and high-quality human resources

With a commitment to spreading knowledge and promoting sustainable development, UEH continues to accompany businesses and partners in activities that connect education with practice, research, recruitment, entrepreneurship, and community service.

Building on the partnership foundation established during the 2020-2025 period, the event series continues to serve as a space connecting businesses, learners, and UEH’s knowledge ecosystem, while also opening a new stage of development toward co-created value and positive community impact.

With the message “Embracing Co-Created Futures”, the UEH Sharing & Giving – Career Fair 2026 series will be held both in person at the UEH campus (279 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Dien Hong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) and online via event.ueh.edu.vn and vieclam.ueh.edu.vn from April 13 to April 19, 2026. The program is expected to attract 7,500 participants and provide more than 5,000 high-quality job opportunities for students, employees, and the learner community.

Beyond being an annual recruitment activity, the series also creates a space for businesses, partners, and learners to connect, update knowledge, technology, and human resource trends, while also supporting professional skill development, access to academic resources, and the spread of reading culture within the community.

Launching the First 22 Key Activities – The “Embracing” Journey of the UEHer Community

The series of 22 key activities under the theme “Embracing Our Legacy” is designed as a strategic action framework. Each core value is not only revisited, but also given a new role in shaping the development phase for 2026–2030 and the vision to 2045.

Toward UEH’s 50th Anniversary: A Series of 22 Co-Creative Activities for a Sustainable Future

50 years of development alongside the nation, nearly 300,000 learners across generations (1975-2026). More than a time to look back and express gratitude, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) announces a series of 22 large-scale key activities to ignite the spirit of co-creation for a sustainable future together with the community.

From the mission of nation-building through knowledge to the legacy of values left behind

Emerged in the context of national reconstruction after 1975, and formally established on October 27, 1976, after assuming training functions, UEH was entrusted with a historic mission: to train human resources in economics and management, thereby directly contributing to national development and nation-building.

After nearly half a century, UEH has continuously transformed itself, leaving many marks in teaching, research, consulting, and contributions to economic and social development, while promoting autonomy, international integration, advanced university governance, and transforming from a single-discipline university model into a multidisciplinary, multi-field university that pioneers action for sustainable development.

To date, UEH has been recognized both nationally and internationally, ranking among the Top 15 universities in Southeast Asia (THE 2026) and as one of the leading Vietnamese universities.

More than a journey, these milestones have left behind 8 enduring values: from Unity – Compassion, which laid the foundation, to Dedication – Community – Pioneering, which built stature, and now Creation – Sustainability – Internationalization, opening up the image of a globally integrated university.

UEH calls this its “heritage of internal strength” – the foundation for action and breakthrough in the new phase.

  • UEH Staff and Employees Sports Festival – UEH Sports 50 – Embracing Collective Strength (04–06/2026): A series of sports activities spreading the spirit of solidarity and teamwork, where each individual joins in the strength of the collective.
  • UEH Family Fair – Embracing Home (27/6/2026): A family gathering for UEH staff and employees, where the value of the “supporting home front” is honored.
  • Retired Lecturers and Staff Gathering – Embracing Grateful Legacy (10/2026): A tribute activity honoring generations of lecturers and staff who have contributed to building and developing UEH over the years.
  • UEH Dormitory Day – Embracing Belonging (09–10/5/2026): The dormitory is a “shared home” for generations of students, where memories, friendships, and youthful experiences are connected. This activity is a journey back to emotion, pride, and attachment.

[UEH 50 Years] UEH Launches Program of 50+ Inspiring Glo-cal Classes, Connecting with Practical Experts

Towards the milestone of its 50th anniversary of establishment and development, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is launching a Series of 50+ Inspirational Glo-cal Classes, simultaneously inviting experts, managers, and entrepreneurs to participate in teaching and sharing as UEH Practical Lecturers, contributing to strengthening the connection between academic knowledge and professional practice.

Promoting the Glo-cal Education Model at UEH

Nearly half a century since its establishment and development, UEH has become a key national public university, holding prestige and quality, and belonging to the 501+ leading universities worldwide (THE Ranking).

Implementing the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University Strategy, UEH defines Glo-cal Education as a differentiated educational model, connecting global thinking with local context and development needs. Accordingly, training programs are designed to link academic knowledge with market practice, while encouraging learners to apply interdisciplinary knowledge to solve socio-economic problems.

The Series of 50+ Inspiring Glo-cal Classes is being implemented to gradually transform courses at UEH towards greater practicality, through the participation of experts from businesses, organizations, and external agencies.

 

Program of 50+ Inspiring Glo-cal Classes: Connecting Academic Knowledge with Practice

The Glo-cal classes are developed with the objective of enhancing applicability in training, with the following key characteristics:

  • Participation of experts in the field from businesses, organizations, or external agencies outside UEH
  • Class content connecting academic theory with practical issues, encouraging integration of topics on sustainable development, social responsibility, and global context
  • Students undertake exercises, projects, or practical case analyses, applying interdisciplinary knowledge to solve problems
  • Class output is a major assignment or project, demonstrating student engagement in solving practical issues at businesses, localities, or communities

The Glo-cal classes are implemented across UEH’s 12 training fields (corresponding to 57 training programs), aiming to provide a learning experience linked to practice and help students directly access professional perspectives from experts in various fields.

Connecting Practical Experts in the Glo-cal Classroom

Concurrently with implementing the class series, UEH is developing a team of UEH Practical Lecturers – experienced experts, managers, and entrepreneurs who participate in teaching, sharing, and accompanying learners. This force contributes to bringing practical issues of businesses, localities, and the market into the classroom, thereby helping students access multi-dimensional professional perspectives and enhance their ability to apply knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Experts can participate in the program through two forms of part-time collaboration: Senior Industry Fellow and Industry Fellow. Participation is flexible according to specific courses, topics, or projects, aligned with the expertise and work schedules of the experts.

Through the participation of this practical lecturer team, UEH expects to create a learning environment where academic knowledge is closely connected with professional experience, while expanding the cooperative network between the university, business community, and domestic and international organizations.
