Alumni Dormitory Day 2026: An Emotional Journey Back to the 2nd Home

In the atmosphere of anticipation towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the Alumni Dormitory Festival 2026, themed “Embracing Belonging – A Journey Back to the Shared Home,” took place over two days, June 13-14, 2026, at UEH Green Living Hub Nguyen Van Linh, bringing meaningful reunion moments for generations of former resident students.

[UEH50] Logo & 50-Year UEH Identity – A Story of Heritage Endowment and Aspiration to Reach Far

Towards the 50-year milestone of its establishment and development (1976-2026), the 50th-anniversary identity system of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has been built as a condensed symbol of a half-century journey of nurturing knowledge, developing people, and continuously innovating for the community, the city, and society.

The UEH50 logo is not merely an identity design; it is also a way for UEH to recount its development story – from its foundational heritage and mission of national reconstruction, to its powerful transformation into a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral university committed to sustainable action and deep international integration.

UEH50 embodies the spirit of an “Innovation FlyWheel” – a cycle of innovation where the internal resources accumulated through generations become strong enough to activate the dynamism of innovation, enabling UEH to become a sustainable innovation machine, capable of self-sustaining, expanding, and creating profound impacts for its ongoing development journey.

UEH50 Logo – Journey from Heritage to the Future

The UEH 50th-anniversary logo adopts red as its primary color, symbolizing the internal strength, pioneering spirit, and leading aspiration of a university that has been in constant motion for half a century.

The overall symbol is composed of multiple layers of meaning, representing the development stages, educational spirit, and future vision of UEH:

The Book Symbol: Represents the spirit of heritage, the starting point of the 50-year journey, and the mission of national reconstruction through knowledge in the early days of its establishment during the 1975-1976 period.

The Human Symbol: Embodies the development philosophy centered on people. UEH is a convergence of individuals with a spirit of innovation, integration, creativity, and connection, jointly creating sustainable value for the community and society.

The Boat Symbol: Reflects the proactive spirit of transformation and the continuous exploration of new journeys by UEH over 50 years. From the historic Campus A, UEH has expanded its footprint to UEH Mekong in Vinh Long and continues to shape the future with the global connection hub, UEH Nexus, in Khanh Hoa.

The Flow Symbol: Evokes the image of a knowledge flow from local internal strength reaching out to the ocean of global integration. This symbolizes UEH’s spirit of scaling up, internationalizing, and building an inter-regional connection network.

The Circle Symbol of the Future Sun: Represents UEH’s long-term vision and aspiration for global integration. It is a symbol of future orientation, leading UEH to continuously innovate, develop, and move forward.

“Innovation FlyWheel” – When Accumulated Endowment Becomes the Driving Force for Renewal Across Generations

Throughout 50 years of establishment and development, UEH has continuously cultivated its internal strength based on eight core values: Solidarity – Compassion – Dedication – Community – Pioneering – Co-creation – Sustainability – Internationalization.

Over time, these symbols connect to create a unified movement – the image of an “Innovation FlyWheel” carrying UEH’s unique internal strength.

The “Innovation FlyWheel” represents the capacity to accumulate internal resources and generate greater momentum for the future. Within it, each individual and each unit is a wheel of the system. When one wheel accelerates, its kinetic energy radiates throughout the entire community. It is this resonance that creates the enduring strength connecting generations of UEHers in the same flow of knowledge and aspiration for development.

These values do not exist in isolation but are constantly evolving, inheriting, and resonating through each development phase. Hence, the image of the “Knowledge Flywheel” was chosen as the central symbol for the 50-year milestone, representing the spirit of continuous innovation, adaptability, and enduring internal strength of UEH on its future development journey.

The “Innovation FlyWheel” places the brand circle at its center – symbols that have been present throughout UEH’s development journey: the circle in the traditional logo symbolizing sustainability; the five river branches of UEH Mekong spreading knowledge to the community; the UEH Nexus magnifying glass – a place where knowledge converges and is illuminated; as well as the ONE UEH cultural compass and the University’s strategic models.

From a 50-Year Heritage to the Next Development Journey

Entering the 50-year milestone, UEH continues to affirm its development orientation to become a multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral university committed to sustainable action and deep international integration; playing the role of a knowledge hub, an innovation center, and a connector for sustainable development for the community, the city, and society.

In this new phase, UEH will continue to promote comprehensive internationalization in training, research, governance, and community connection activities; gradually enhance its position within the global academic community, aiming to maintain its place in the Top 250 Asian universities for the 2025-2030 period and progress towards the Top 100 in Asia in the subsequent phase.

The 50-year identity system is not only a mark of a historical milestone but also a link connecting the past, present, and future; connecting generations of UEHers in the same spirit of unity, companionship, and co-creation.

From the movements of each individual and each unit, the UEH “Innovation FlyWheel” will continue to be driven by pride, a sense of responsibility, and an unceasing aspiration for development.

Fifty years is not just a time for reflection, but also a moment for the UEH community to collectively continue writing the legacy of heritage with new values for the community, the city, and society in the future./.

Half a century has passed. From a book of knowledge with a nation-building mission in 1976 to today, UEH has grown into one of the leading universities in Asia.

This is the journey of 8 heritage values that form UEH’s internal strength, preserved and transformed across generations of UEHers. From Unity – Compassion, which laid the foundation in the early years; Dedication – Community – Pioneering, which shaped today’s identity and standing; to Creation – Sustainability – Internationalization, which opens up the vision for the future.

These 8 values crystallize into a heritage of internal strength, connecting the past, present, and aspirations, and continuing to guide UEH in co-creating the future.

Green Living Hub Nguyen Van Linh aims to create an ideal living, learning, and community-connecting space for UEH learners.

UEH Dormitory Day – “Embracing Belonging” is one of 22 key activities associated with the eight heritage values cultivated throughout UEH’s 50-year history. Under the theme “Embracing Our Legacy” these activities are designed as a strategic action framework. Each core value is not only revisited but also given a new role in shaping UEH’s development for 2026-2030 and UEH’s vision toward 2045.

Centered around five strategic pillars – Education, Research, Community Engagement, Governance, and Operations – the series is more than a commemorative celebration. It is a meaningful experiential journey where every UEHer can participate, reflect, and co-create the future from the foundation of UEH’s legacy and internal strengths.

UEH warmly welcomes generations of dormitory alumni to join UEH Dormitory Day – “Embracing Belonging” and continue writing the next chapters of UEH’s 50-year journey together.

[UEH 50 Years] Awakening the Inner Strength of “Dedication – Community”: People Building a Legacy

Continuing the journey that began with awakening the foundational value of “Unity – Compassion,” the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has entered the next chapter, centered on “Dedication and Community” – two values that have steadfastly shaped UEH’s identity and standing throughout half a century of development.

If “Unity – Compassion” was the foundation in the early years, then “Dedication – Community” has been the driving force behind UEH’s continuous growth. It is the dedication of generations of lecturers to knowledge, the commitment of staff and employees to the university’s operations and development, and the community spirit of more than 280,000 alumni, partners, and learners across generations.

It is precisely the synergy between individual dedication and community connection that has created UEH’s inner strength, enabling the University not only to fulfill its educational mission but also to steadily affirm its pioneering role in education, research, and social service.

That spirit is now embodied through a series of multi-generational activities throughout 2026, where each experience is not only a commemorative milestone, but also a space for people to meet, share, and co-create the future.

Awakening the inner strength of “Dedication – Community” through a series of multi-generational connection activities

*Pride strength – UEH Youth Festival 2026 “Embracing Creative Energy”

Launching the series of activities connecting the UEH community, UEH Youth Festival 2026 gathers approximately 6,000–8,000 students at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area, featuring a vibrant campsite space rich in youthful identity. Students will take part in many highlight activities such as opening performances, Color Me Run, EDM, water festival, the UEH 50-Year Heritage exhibition, the mini show “Proud of UEH,” acoustic shows, team-building, flash mobs, as well as sustainability-oriented activities such as Green Games, Green Fashion Show, and the UEH Green Campus experience.

A highlight of the program is the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, featuring the recognition of outstanding Youth Union–Student Association officers and the kick-off ceremony for the series of activities toward UEH’s 50th anniversary. More than just a youth playground, UEH Youth Festival 2026 also spreads the pioneering, creative, and community-responsible spirit of UEH students today.

*Youthful strength – UEH Student Sports Festival 2026 “Embracing Youth Power”

Taking place from January to December 2026, the UEH Student Sports Festival is a key activity celebrating UEH’s 50th anniversary, aiming to build a professional and healthy school sports environment and spread the spirit of fair play, discipline, and responsibility among the student community.

The program brings together many sports such as tug of war, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, pickleball, and e-sports, organized in two phases throughout the year and concluded in November.

The highlight is UEH League – the men’s and women’s football tournaments, each featuring 10 teams, competing in a group stage and knockout format. Beyond promoting sustainable student sports movements, UEH League also helps strengthen connections among academic units, promote gender equality in sports, and select core players for UEH teams participating in citywide and national competitions.

*Sharing strength – UEH Run Half Marathon 2026 “Embracing Our Future”

UEH Run Half Marathon 2026 is organized as a major half-marathon event, expected to take place at Sala Urban Area with around 4,000 runners. The event brings together students, lecturers, staff, alumni, partner businesses, and the sports-loving community, creating a multi-generational space for movement and connection.

The race includes three distances symbolizing the different layers of values in UEH’s journey: 5KM – Heritage of Knowledge, 10KM – Heritage of People, and 21KM – Heritage of the Future. Each distance represents a distinct touchpoint, from the mission of nation-building through knowledge, to the philosophy of people-centered development, and the aspiration to move toward a sustainable future with the community. Beyond competition, the program is expanded into a UEH 50-year experience space, with exhibition and interactive zones such as Green Zone, Giving Zone, Alumni Zone, along with entertainment spaces for the runner community.

In particular, through the Giving To UEH fundraising goal, all revenue after costs, together with contributions from businesses and runners, will be directed toward education development activities, scholarships, campus facilities, academic resources, and sustainable projects at UEH.

*Generational strength – Alumni Day 2026 “Embracing Lifelong Bonds”

UEH Alumni Day 2026 is designed as a journey “home,” where generations of UEH alumni gather to relive youthful memories and reconnect with the community that once accompanied them. More than just a reunion, the program also evokes a sense of “belonging to UEH” – belonging to a network of knowledge and values that accompany each individual throughout their personal growth.

Through the Homecoming Series, UEH is gradually forming Alumni Chapters by cohort, major, faculty, and graduation year, building a sustainable connection system between alumni and the University.

A highlight of the program is the “Memories & Movements” space, recreating UEH’s 50-year development journey alongside the youthful memories of many generations of students. Alumni will also join Campus Tours, class/year reunions, and connect with the global UEH Alumni network. Through this, UEH continues to maintain a long-lasting and profound bond among generations of UEHers.

*Spreading strength – UEH Alumni Sports Week “Embracing Active Legacy”

The Sports Week celebrating UEH’s 50th anniversary is organized as a gathering space for the energy of the alumni community. Throughout the week, UEHers will come together for a series of tournaments in Golf, Football, Pickleball, and Badminton – creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with the spirit of competition, exchange, and connection.

Beyond sports, the program expands into a community networking forum through the UEH Alumni Conference – where generations of alumni meet, share professional experiences, and explore new opportunities for collaboration. The series of activities concludes with a Gala Dinner and the UEH Alumni Awards ceremony, honoring individuals and collectives who have made outstanding contributions to both the community and the University.

With a goal of attracting approximately 1,000 alumni across 04 official tournaments, the program aims to build a connected, dynamic UEHer community that walks alongside UEH on its journey of sustainable development.

*Identity strength – UEH Student Arts Festival 2026 “Embracing Artistic Spirit”

The UEH Student Arts Festival 2026 is a healthy and creative artistic playground for students across all years, levels, and training programs, contributing to the realization of holistic education goals within a university environment.

Over 4 days of performances at Hall A.116, faculties, institutes, and dormitories will bring a rich variety of acts to the stage, from duets, trios, and group vocals to choral ensembles, dance, musical dance performances, and instrumental showcases – all revolving around the theme of UEH identity, woven into the 50-year journey of the University’s formation and development.

More than just a student stage, the festival is also an opportunity to discover and nurture outstanding performances and voices to join the UEH student arts team, serving major University events and citywide and national competitions.

*Emotional strength – UEH Concert 2026 “Embracing Shared Emotions”

Closing the 50th anniversary celebration series, UEH Concert 2026 is a large-scale music festival that serves as a bridge connecting generations of UEHers. The program opens with a formal ceremony and a documentary recounting UEH’s half-century-long development journey, followed by a series of artistic performances specially staged for this milestone.

The highlight of the concert night is the 50th anniversary moment, where the UEH community reflects on the journey so far and looks toward the future. The stage will feature many UEH alumni artists such as MTV, Pham Khanh Ngoc, Ong Cao Thang, Jun Pham, DTAP, and HIEUTHUHAI.

Not only an entertainment event, UEH Concert 2026 is also a space of emotions, memories, and pride, where all UEHers come together to honor the 50-year journey and continue moving toward the future.

[UEH 50 years] Reawakening the Inner Strength of “Unity – Compassion” from the Early Days with the Mission of “Nation-Building through Knowledge”

Since the earliest days of nation-building through knowledge, “Unity – Compassion” has been the bond connecting generations of UEHers. Through the 22 activities in the “Embracing Our Legacy” series, UEH not only reflects on the past but also revives and carries forward this value through connection-driven initiatives, where memories are transformed into motivation for the future.

Beginning with the Mission of “Nation-Building through Knowledge”

Established in the post-1975 period and officially founded on October 27, 1976, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) was entrusted with a special mission: to educate and develop a workforce in economics and management to serve the country’s reconstruction and development.

In those early, challenging years, every foundation was built by people. It was in this context that “Unity – Compassion” was not only a core value but became a foundational inner strength, connecting faculty and students, alumni across generations, staff, employees, and the extended UEH community.

From this strong bond, a resilient UEHer community was formed – one that shares, supports, and grows together across generations.

Reawakening the Inner Strength of “Unity – Compassion” through four foundational activities

*Strength of Memory: UEH Dormitory Day – “Embracing Belonging”

Taking place in May 2026, UEH Dormitory Day offers generations of former resident students a chance to return to their “second home” – a place they once belonged to, where friendships, aspirations, and a strong sense of community were first nurtured.

The two-day program features sports activities, sharing sessions on personal growth journeys, campus tours, and a warm Gala Dinner. The dormitory space is recreated as a touchpoint of memory, where alumni can reflect on their own journeys and reconnect with today’s generation.

More importantly, “Embracing Belonging” goes beyond nostalgia. It serves as a bridge for mentoring, scholarships, and career orientation – where different generations share experiences and inspire current students.

The dormitory, therefore, is not just a place to live. It is where generational inner strength is formed and carried forward.

*Strength of Unity: UEH Staff Sports Festival 50 – “Embracing Collective Strength”

From April to June 2026, nearly 1,000 staff members, employees, and retired faculty will gather at the Nguyen Van Linh campus as part of the UEH Sports 50 – Staff and Employee Sports Festival.

Featuring competitions such as football, table tennis, Chinese chess, and collective sports, the festival is not only an opportunity for physical activity but also a space to foster team spirit and a culture of connection.

The UEH Champion Cup and the UEH Strength Challenge, featuring five relay stages, demand coordination, endurance, and mutual trust. They reflect a microcosm of an effective organization: each individual is a vital link, and collective strength is built on shared commitment.

UEH Sports 50 thus becomes a symbol of collective inner strength – the foundation for long-term progress.

*Family Strength: UEH Family Fair – “Embracing Home”

In June 2026, the UEH Family Fair “Embracing Home” extends the space of connection to the families of staff and employees.

Activities such as the UEH Family Fair fundraising market for scholarships, parent-child workshops, a book café corner, the “UEH Memory Corner,” and the “UEH Family Got Talent” program come together to create a day that is both warm and rich in community spirit.

Behind every UEHer is a family that accompanies them. UEH is not only a place to work or study, but also an environment where families grow together, share, and continue a 50-year journey of connection and care.

When families are connected, the organization’s inner strength is sustainably amplified.

*Strength of Gratitude: Reunion of Retired Faculty – “Embracing Grateful Legacy”

In October 2026, the Reunion of Retired Faculty offers UEH an opportunity to honor the significant contributions of generations of lecturers to the University’s development.

This is not only a gathering, but a continuation of the flow of knowledge. The professional stories, the memories of the early days of building, the lessons passed down through the years – these are the very roots of today’s journey.

When generations come together, this inner strength is not only remembered but reaffirmed as the foundation for the next chapter ahead.

Join in, experience, and spread the UEH spirit through a series of 22 activities under ‘Embracing Our Legacy’ –  so that every personal mark becomes part of a shared journey: a journey that carries forward 50 years of legacy and opens the road to what lies ahead.

Join in, experience, and spread the UEH spirit through a series of 22 activities under ‘Embracing Our Legacy’ –  so that every personal mark becomes part of a shared journey: a journey that carries forward 50 years of legacy and opens the road to what lies ahead.

Stay tuned for UEH’s 50th anniversary celebration event:
